What is Ask an Ally?

Ask an Ally is a monthly advice column, in the tradition of Dear Abby, wherein a bona fide straight ally answers your questions. Each month, a different qualified ally will answer a different question pertaining to straight allies and issues surrounding straight allies.

Do you have a question you’re too embarrassed to ask? Afraid of sounding dumb or hurting people’s feelings? Or maybe you’re just really curious about something. Don’t be shy, ask an ally!  Click here to email us your question, and make sure to write "Ask an Ally" in the subject line (don’t worry, we won’t print your name unless you ask us too!). Who knows? Maybe we’ll print your question. You’ll have to keep checking back to see!

Ask an Ally posts:

July 2009 - What is gay Pride month for?

May 2009 - How can allies be more visible in the community?

April 2009 - I think my friend is gay, what do I do?

March 2009 - What do I do when my friends make a gay joke?

January 2009 – How do I talk to my child about sexual orientation?
