PFLAG NATIONAL CELEBRATES MARRIAGE EQUALITY IN WASHINGTON STATE
WASHINGTON DC, — Today, PFLAG National released the following statements regarding the newly-signed marriage equality bill in Washington State.
"Congratulations and many thanks to the Washington State Legislature, and Governor Gregoire, for passing the marriage equality act, and signing it into law. PFLAG Regional Director Kathy Reim and chapter members across Washington worked closely with many local partner organizations to educate legislators and communities about the critical need for marriage equality. Their leadership truly changed hearts and minds across the state."
Jody M. Huckaby, Executive Director
“What an important moment in history when we can tell people of all ages they are no longer second-class citizens in the most important aspect of one’s life. We will take our place next to other nations and other states that have moved forward with common sense. Our public policy should stand with families.”
Kathy Reim, PFLAG Pacific Northwest Regional Director
