The Jeanne Manford PFLAG Legacy Circle

In 1972, Jeanne Manford’s life was changed forever when she turned on the TV news and saw her son being beaten at a gay rights protest as the police stood by and did nothing.

Outraged, she took action. She wrote letters to the editor, she marched with her son in a Gay Pride Parade, and she founded PFLAG — Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays.

More than three decades later, PFLAG is America’s leading, most broadly-based LGBT support, education and advocacy organization, with over 500 chapters in all 50 states. The breakthroughs that PFLAG has won surpassed Jeanne Manford’s wildest dreams. Today, there is less anti-LGBT discrimination and more acceptance than ever before.

But there is much work to be done, and you can help ensure that PFLAG achieves each of these goals and transforms America into a country where equality, tolerance and justice rule. Whether it takes 10, 50 or 100 years, we will see this fight through until we win. By making a planned gift to PFLAG and joining the Jeanne Manford PFLAG Legacy Circle, you will help ensure that we succeed.
