Cesar graduated from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, with a Bachelors of Science degree in Urban & Regional Planning and a minor in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). He studied community development, social capital/empowerment, capacity building, and community involvement.
He has six years of work experience with several LGBT organizations, where he gained hands-on experience working with the public, private and non-profit sectors. His work began in the field of youth development through HIV Prevention at Bienestar Human Services, a Latino-based CBO in East Los Angeles. Many years later, he found myself working at the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center coordinating activities for the men's Program, HIV Prevention and Community Organizing.
Cesar's goal is to create a welcoming community for all who have experienced discrimination due to race, age, gender, sexual orientation, and ability. He is an Aquarius, a native Angelino, a world traveler, and a lover of maps.
